Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer 2009

Giorgio Armani has been one of the most celebrated fashion designers that have ever come out of Italy and maybe one of the most influential people in fashion all together. The first Armani line for men was launched in 1974, followed by the first women’s line about a year later. From that point on, Giorgio Armani has been a main stay in both the high end and consumer based fashion industries and is continuing the tradition of making innovative, high quality clothing. One of the ways that the company has been able to do this is with all of their incredible side projects that have actually become an extremely large part of the overall mainstream success of the brand. Giorgio Armani has overseen the design of all of these different lines and has made sure that these “spin off” brands retain the quality and attention to detail that the brand was originally known for. Since the launch of the first line, Armani has attached themselves to many different fashion ventures including underwear, accessories, swimwear, and a children’s line. All of these different ventures have had much success, especially the line for kids that is affectionately called Giorgio Armani Junior. Aside from these projects, Armani also introduced cheaper collections that are aimed towards a more mainstream customer base. The basic idea is to create Armani style designs and clothing at prices that the average person will be able to afford. This goal is achieved with two sister companies, Emporio Armani and Armani Jeans. More recently, Giorgio Armani also introduced a make-up line that has also done extremely well and is slated to be the next big thing for Armani. With the help of all of these great companies, the Giorgio Armani enterprise brings in around 1 billion dollar annually.

One of the things that Giorgio Armani is known for is attracting the world’s most important people and celebrities to his shows. This further helps to attract attention to the brand and is great for publicity that, frankly, Armani doesn’t really need. Giorgio Armani will carry on the tradition of the company with the new spring/summer 2009 collection that will be available worldwide quite soon. This is perhaps one of the most anticipated collections of the year and is sure to attract the entire industry as it is released. Many experts say that the new line is going to be a little bit different than what we have seen over the last few years. Its been reported that the spring/summer line is a lot edgier than years prior as well as having the same elegant feel that high end Armani lines are known for. Many reviewers have said that this collection might be the most creative that we have seen from Armani in a long time. That is if it is even possible to compare one to the other. However, for all of these reasons you can expect Armani to be the talk of the industry when it comes to spring/summer trends.
