Kate Spade

In 1962 in Kansas City, Missouri, a baby born by the name Kathryn Noel Brosnahan, was destined to one day become the renown Kate Spade of Kate Spade New York. Designer Kate Spade is a graduate of St. Theresa’s Academy and Arizona State University where she majored in journalism. During that time, she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and worked at a popular motorcycle bar.
In 1986 after graduating with a journalism degree from Arizona State she secured a position with Mademoiselle magazine. Kate work in the accessories department of the magazine and was known as Katy Brosnahan. After leaving Mademoiselle in 1991, having secured the position of senior fashion editor, she decided to create her own line of handbags. Before embarking on her venture take the time to research different fabrics, costs of production, and different styles of handbags. Kagan went on to produce her very own line of handmade classic handbags.
Soon thereafter take married, Andy Spade. And he was a native of Arizona, and the brother of renowned actor David Spade. Kate had met Andy while attending school at Arizona State University, although during her time there, the two remained just friends.
After marrying, the two manufactured and launched their very own New York design firm known as “Kate Spade Handbags”. Her think that time, the company has grown to manufacture and sell a wide variety of additional items. Some of these items include stationary, address books, personal organizers, there is beauty products, a wide selection of high fashion shoes, as well as a variety of other accessories.
In 2000 for the couple launched the company Kate Spade at Home. Kate Spade at Home manufactures all items for the home including bed, bath, and kitchen items, china, wallpaper and other decorative details. Kate has also manufactured a brand of men’s accessories. These men’s accessories are manufactured under the name Jack Spade, a fictional name. Inspiration for this men’s line is credited mainly to Andy Spade.
Caton and he opened the first Kate Spade store in SoHo in 1996. Since that time stores up in opened in Boston Chicago San Francisco, Connecticut Greenwich Manhattan Long Island and host of other cities. The Kate Spade brand has spread like wildfire all over the United States. In 2004 Kate Spade went international opening, a boutique in Tokyo.
Today, Kate Spade has 25 boutiques, located in various spots around the world. 16 of these boutiques are located in the US, while there are three in Japan, four in the Philippines, and another three in Hong Kong.
Popularly, Kate Spade handbags are frequently featured on the TBS sitcom Just Shoot Me. Kate Spade handbag is renowned as the favorite handbag of fashion model turned fashion editor Nina Van horn (Wendie Malick). This feature is due in part to the frame of the ever-popular David Spade who also stars on the show.
