As we gear up for the Holidays, the fashion mavens have been putting out the feelers for a throwback to the 80’s for Spring 2009. Here is what we’re seeing from the streets of Melrose Ave in Los Angeles, to Fashion Ave in New York City or perhaps the walks of Paris, France.

Ripped Denim- From Gisele to tweens, this trend has been in the fashion consciousness since the fall of 2008 and will continue to do so, except instead of being worn with fitted jackets and snug sweaters, they’ll be an accessory to tight tank tops and fitted tees.
Sheer fabrics in neutral colors- This is a runway trend that will reverberate in the closets of women everywhere. Why neutral? Nothing looks more classic than a classic beige sheer chemise underneath a cropped jacket and cigarette jeans. Though the material will be lighter, the look will be the same.
Fringed Clothing- Not only are these a popular accessory with boots, but clothing as we’ve seen with Alexander McQueens 2008/2009 collection. Whether long or short, fringes bring more attention to your gams, so be sure that you’re hitting the gym or at least that you add a little bronzer to your calves to add definition to that swish.

One Shouldered-Clothing- Perhaps it’s a wink or a tease, but showing off one shoulder adds a bit of sexiness to any outfit. Whether it’s a top, blouse, or dress, the one shoulder is a subtle statement piece that can add oomph to any night out.
The Grecian Trend- There is some truth to that term, “Greek Goddess,” with those flowing, ethereal dresses along with simple but ornamental belts. This past summer, it was all about the gladiator sandals and this Greek-loving trend has continued with plunging necklines and sheer Grecian dresses/skirts. Wear with skinny jeans and flats for day, or jazz it up with fab ankle boots for night wear.

Butterfly-themed Accessories- Do we ever lose that little girl? Not with accessories. Adding sweet, girly butterfly pins to dresses, blouses, or perhaps a small hairpin, to add a bit of spring to your ‘09 wardrobe.
