“Nothing Like the Holidays” is a comedy/drama starring John Leguizamo, Debra Messing, Freddy Rodriguez, Alfred Molina, Vanessa Ferlito and Jay Hernandez. It is scheduled for debut on December 12, 2008.
“Nothing Like the Holidays” follows the Rodriguez family as they unite for the holidays after their youngest brothers return from war. The family soon realizes that they have changed and have their own lives.
Jesse (Freddy Rodriguez) returns from war to find that he still have feelings for an old flame, although she is still upset with him for leaving her. Roxanna (Vanessa Ferlito) is the oldest sister who has been pursing her acting career, although she has nothing to show for it. Mauricio (John Leguizamo) brings home a high-strung, executive wife, Sarah (Debra Messing). The family is upset that Sarah would rather continue her career than raise a family and has no thoughts of having children.
Gathering this many siblings that have all been away from each other is chaotic enough, but early on their mother, Anna (Elizabeth Pena) announces she is divorcing their father, Eduardo (Alfred Molina). This of course causes an uproar in the family. The movie follows the family through their struggles and as they begin to forgive and forget for issues in the past.
