Tim McGraw To Run For Governor?

Yup, that is right…this country singing, book writing, family adoring cowboy is throwing his hat into the ring for Governor of Tennessee. He is seriously considering running after Democrat Governor Phil Bredesen second term finishes in 2010. In the current copy of Esquire magazine (which is out today) McGraw says he has no immediate plans to enter into politics…but he was approached a few years ago to run for a U.S. Senate seat that eventually went to Tennessee Republican Lamar Alexander. The article quotes McGraw as saying:

“…that as governor of a state, especially where I live, there would be a lot more opportunities to make some decisions and change some things.”

His wife, Faith Hill is supposedly trilled at the idea of being a first lady. She says:

Tim has talked about maybe running for office. I can’t imagine what it would be like to be the first lady of Tennessee, but who knows? I don’t rule it out. It’s dangerous to say never.”
