The Timeless Classic – Red Lipstick
I have to be honest with you - I’ve never been comfortable wearing red lipstick. I am a lover of the dark, dramatic eye with glossy light lips. However, just like the little black dress, red lipstick is a must-have for a girls’ makeup collection. My favorite is NARS Semi-Matte Red Lizard lipstick. I think it’s one of the more perfect reds out there.
When looking for the perfect red, there are a few things you have to take into consideration: hair color, skin tone, lip fullness, seasonality, and texture. A women with blonde hair, pink-toned skin, and thin lips shopping for lipstick in summer should consider a red lipstick with a pink or blue undertone that has a sheer texture or a lip gloss. A women with dark brown hair, olive-toned skin, and full lips shopping for lipstick in winter should consider a rich, brick red lipstick with a matte texture – and for fun, she can even throw a clear gloss over it! Especially during the holiday season, wearing red lipstick is quite popular. Just remember to pair red lips with light eye makeup and a rosy blush on the cheeks. You want to emphasize your red lips and nothing else, because otherwise you look overdone. Kisses!
