Mother-in-laws have earned a reputation the world over for being evil creatures, convinced that no one is good enough for their perfect sons and that they must do anything necessary to keep unworthy new girlfriends and wives out of the picture. But although the occasional woman has genuinely feared that her mother-in-law was trying to kill her, the majority of in-law moms aren’t really deadly, right? Surprisingly, a new study says it might actually be dangerous to spend too much time with your mother-in-law. Japanese scientists have found that women who live with their mother-in-laws are three times more likely to have a heart attack.
The husbands, however, are usually just fine.
