Are the culinary gifted running out of original ideas? Or are bizarre patisserie concoctions the new thing, since lately there seems to be a splurge of innovative desserts from upscale bakeries. I found this cupcake on Flickr via keyword search ‘bacon’ and automatically assumed BLT meant something other than Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato.
I was wrong.
Turns out, this gorgeous mound of sweetness is a BLT cupcake. According to the brave soul that actually tried the atrociousness:
“The cake had more of a muffin-like texture and was studded with bacon chunks. The frosting was basically just fluffy ranch dressing, plus a few cherry tomatoes on top.”
Ranch icing? As in, the California Ketchup? Wow. And I thought Foie Gras Macarons was thinking outside of the box. Speechless.
