Wintertime can be rough on your skin whether it’s the dry, cold air in Los Angeles or the briskly wet and chilling cold of New York City. And so, it’s best to be prepared and tend to your skin with these helpful tips.
Moisturize. Moisturize. Moisturize – You probably have heard this millions of times, but it is a tried and true remedy to having supple skin. You don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars, but instead you can find popular brand such as Oil of Olay or Aveeno that have excellent products at the fraction of department store prices.
Stay out of the Sun- Just because you’re not sunbathing on the beach, it doesn’t mean that UV rays aren’t wreaking havoc on your skin. A great way to block this is using a good sunscreen with at least SPF 15. Cloudy or not, you should always wear sunscreen for good skin.
Eat Right- We’ve all heard the tried and true adage that “You Are What You Eat,” and it’s true. Eat a variety of fruits, vegetables, legumes, complex carbohydrates and lean proteins. And stick to foods that aren’t processed for optimal antioxidant absorption.
Splurge. A little- I do believe that you can splurge a bit on skincare, whether it’s an expensive eye cream, face mask, or serum that you just cannot live without. For me, that’s Origin’s “A Perfect World,” which really makes a huge difference in my skin by making my skin feel more hydrated and softer than before. It also never makes me break out, which is a plus as well as smelling like citrus heaven.
Sleep- Getting enough shut-eye is crucial for good skin, as this is the time that the skin takes to regenerate. We all have busy lives, but if you take a little time out to rest, it’ll make a huge difference in your skin.
