Dump 10 Facebook Friends for a Free Whopper

Burger King jumps into the Social Networking scene building a Facebook application with incentive: a free Whopper in exchange for 10 Facebook “friends”. The campaign is brilliantly mean and hilarious, but if I was reduced to a piece of meat – no, 1/10th of a piece of meat by a Facebook “friend” for a BURGER? I would be highly offended. The lowest I have ever stooped for free food is dating.

Now that I think about it, Burger King may be trying to make us lose friends and more dependent on their Whoppers. First they come out with “Flame” body spray that makes you smell like a burger. Reeking of a Whopper will definitely make you the most popular kid on the block – in a zoo. Then we get rewarded with free Whoppers by kicking our Facebook friends to the curb. If I fell for Burger King’s ad campaigns, I would be lucky to have any friends left.

But hey, at least I would have a Whopper.
