Obama Inauguration
Barack Obama’s inauguration as the first black American president is set to be a historical event. Such is the interest in the Obama inauguration that everybody from stars to the common man wants to be a part of the biggest show in Washington on Tuesday 20th 2009.
Thousands of Obama supporters have already streamed into Washington over the weekend so as to be present in flesh when Obama delivers his historical inaugural address to the nation. The Obama inauguration will see a culmination of the support for Barack Obama from the people who elected him with such heavy majority.
22 giant TV screens will line the 1.9 mile-long Mall that covers the length from the Capitol Building, the site of the Obama inauguration ceremony, to the Lincoln memorial. Organizers for the event have made preparations to accommodate at least 2 million people that they expect to turn up for the event; however the freezing winter temperatures may lead to a drop in attendance.
Given that the demand for witnessing the Obama inauguration far outstrips the available tickets for the event, ticket brokers are having a field day with one broker quoting a whopping $20,095 for a single ticket. So if you’re not a congressman or cannot get a senator to get you a free seat, be prepared to loosen those purse strings.
The traditional free-for-public star-studded concert preceding the Obama inauguration was held at the National Mall on Sunday. It featured performances by Bruce Springsteen, U2, Beyonce, Usher, Garth Brooks, Stevie Wonder, John Mellencamp, Shakira, etc and president-elect Obama attended the extravaganza.

Barack Obama is BIRACIAL (BLACK father/WHITE mother) and personifies the phrase: America is a melting-pot of ethnicities and cultures. This FACT should be celebrated instead of dismissing 50% of his heritage by calling him BLACK. BARACK OBAMA, AMERICA’S FIRST BIRACIAL PRESIDENT…now, I can agree to that!

Desde el momento que usted se candidatizó para ser el Mandatario de los Estados Unidos de América, he sido su gran admiradora. Soy colombiana y tal vez como usted lo pudo ver en muchas ciudades de mi país celebraron de que fuera el Presidente.
Señor Presidente: Quiero comentarle que desde hace 4 años mi hijo,( en este momento él tiene 19 años) está solicitando la VISA para poder salir con sus padres, pués él no está interesado en viajar a los EE.UU y quedarse, le hemos hecho la solicitud de la VISA por la sencilla razón que desde el Colegio todo su bachillerato vió el inglés y también lo estudió el Australia seis meses para mejorarlo. Nosotros sus padres tenemos la Visa, queremos viajar y queremos hacerlo con nuestro hijo, pues sería más fácil estár en su país y no complicarnos la vida adivinando que nos dicen o como preguntamos, pues el ingles de nosotros sus padres no es fluído y él sería una ayuda. El se encuentra estudiando tercer semestre de Universidad en la carrera de Bellas Artes. Como usted puede ver señor Presidente, no veo el motivo que tengan para negarle la VISA aduciendo que debe trabajar, tener dinero y terminar la carrera para poder darle la VISA. Quisiera que usted me ayudara, pues nuestra intención es viajar en un mes a su país ( Yo Laura Lesmes, ya estoy pensionada y mi esposo está por salir, yo no he viajado nunca fuera de mi país y pienso que esta es la oportunidad que tengo, pero lo quiero hacer con mi hijo).
Espero señor Presidente, no molestarlo , pero si quisisera una explicación a tanta negación.
Como me gustaría y me daría mucha alegría , poder contarle a mis amgiso, el Presidente OBAMA me respondió una carta que le envíe.
