Winter driving in the snow

Driving is never something to be taken for granted but in the icy, snowy conditions of winter it takes a special level of attention. People make the same mistakes over and over it seems (like the #1 mistake of driving too fast) so if you don’t want to be the next unfortunate soul to go skidding into the ditch (or worse) you might want to take a closer look at your winter driving habits and make sure you’re not guilty of one of the 10 deadly mistakes of winter driving:

#1 Driving too fast

#2 Following too closely

#3 Over-correcting on ice

#4 Driving tired

#5 Driving in poor visibility

#6 Driving on back roads

#7 Not winterizing your vehicle (snow tires, spare key, etc)

#8 Not having an emergency kit

#9 Leaving the vehicle when stranded or lost

#10 Failing to check weather conditions before leaving
