Spring Fashion – The Remix

Now, as we’re all aware of the need to adjust our spending habits in these changing times and realize that we may have to tighten our belts for some time to come, you may think that fashion may have to suffer.  No, not really.  You just have to figure out how to put together a polished, updated look with what you have going on, in your current closet.

Here are some current trends that you can re-mix without having to pull out the Credit card:

Military jackets-  This structured look can be young and flirty when softened with boyish loose jenas or a flowy top.  You can find any of these at H&M or Zara.

Mixed Prints- Mixed prints are in this spring, whether as slacks with a solid or neutral colored top, or as a flowy top on top of black skinny jeans.  It’s up to you to choose the execution, but having a splash of color makes any girl feel like its spring, no matter how the markets are doing.

Strappy Sandals-  Flats or high heels.  At work or for a night out for drinks with the girls, strappy sandals work best when tailored to the outfit that you’re wearing.  Lavish colors work best with flats, and with heels, stick to black, brown or neutral.

Chunky Cage Heels- From Lindsay to Mary Kate, celebs are wearing the ultra-high cage heels that are rocker-esque and sexy as hell.  For the office, no, but for a night out with a new guy, I highly recommend these.  Plus, you can get them for a low price at Aldo or Zappos.com. Who says fashion has to cost a ton?
