Gwyneth Paltrow’s self help website has attracted some mixed press lately. Huffington Post writer, Meredith Blake, lambasts Mrs. Paltrow’s efforts on her new website, citing them as “shallow.” Goop, which launched last September, has been attracting a lot of attention lately, unfortunately for all the wrong reasons. Blake argues that the website is “painfully Paltrow-esque” and offers very little insight into life coaching. She even goes as far as to say, how insulted she feels at Paltrow’s attempt to enlighten us all.
The site is a desperate cry for attention and really almost as if Mrs. Paltrow is bragging to everyone how fulfilled her life is. However, I must say that it isn’t all useless information. There are definitely a few diamonds in the rough, but you really have to dig. If Mrs. Paltrow really wanted to share her rarefied knowledge that comes from being an A-list celebrity, she would offer us access to the best stylists, trainers, make-up artists and spiritual gurus money can buy.
In my opinion, Mrs. Paltrow is one of those pretentious people who try to be real.
Let’s face it, Mrs. Paltrow has mastered a few areas in her life (exercising, eating, dressing) far better than the rest of us shlubs. The turkey meatball recipe sounds scrumptious, her detox plan seems sensible, and the post-holiday butt-workout video (streamed on the site and downloadable) is actually quite handy.

This magazine is a steaming pile of goop. It's pretentious and obnoxious, and really just the same as every other fashion magazine, without the editorial content. Read our hateful comments here: http://pop.ology.com/2009/02/16/gwyneth-paltrow-would-like-you-to-know-shes-rich/
