Oprah & Octuplet Grandfather Ed Doud
Ed Doud, Nadya Suleman’s Father will be on Oprah on February 24th. He was in Chi town taping the show yesterday.
Suleman’s own Father believes her “mental situation” is questionnable adding that both her and the fertility doctor were “absolutely irresponsible”. I would say so, wouldn’t you?!
I understand from when Suleman was on the Today show that she had infertility issues which is why she started IVF (In-Vitro Fertilization) with her first six children. However, longing for another child after having six and your fertility Doctor implanting six embryos into one woman, in my opinion (and I’m not a medical professional), is definitely irresponsible and in some countries, against the law!
It will be interesting to watch this episode of Oprah. I’m sure Oprah did not necessarily want Suleman or her Mother on her show and wanted a completely different perspective which is why she choose Doud. However, I also believe he wanted his five-minutes of fame.
On the flip side, I think it’s important that this story is analyzed deeper with regards to the issue of infertility. I think it’s important to have a greater understanding of IVF, other fertility treatments, and the trials and tribulations of pregnancy.
