I sometimes think that watching the red carpet fashion prior to the Oscars is more important than the show itself. Even during the show, do you wait with baited breath to hear who is going to win for Best Actress or Best Supporting Actor, or do you just want to see all the stars walk out in their gowns and tuxedos? Well, I enjoy both.
In this post we are going to focus on Marisa Tomei’s look. Some of the fashion critics were torn between whether her dress was spectacular or not, I happen to think it was fabulously constructed. Her hair and makeup was simple and glamourous at the same time.
Her hair was a simple, yet elegant up-do with a couple of pieces falling around her face, framing it nicely. Her jewelry was perfect, wearing large, dark purple studs and matching bracelet by Van Cleef and Arpels.
For her makeup, there again, simple and gorgeous. Enough to bring out her features, but not over-power her face or over-power her dress. She defined her top lash line with a dark pencil, using a light, neutral gray-toned shadow to define her lower lash line. I have to disagree with Bellasugar and say that her lips are not a bubble gum pink tone, rather a very neutral rosy-pink lip. Her cheeks, a neutral peachy-pink hue.
