There are quite a few voices calling Ryan Seacrest names for of his red carpet interview with the child actors from “Slumdog Millionaire”.

I watched the video a few times and couldn’t understand what was wrong with his interview — aside from it being a tad awkward. Around 0:36ish, Seacrest holds up a piece paper with the child actors’ names on them, flashes the camera, then states: “Because we’re short on time and I can’t pronounce all these names..” he tells the actors to shout their names out at once. Towards the end of the clip, he asks a Slumdog actor his name with a follow-up question. An older Slumdog actress tells Seacrest: “He (the actor) doesn’t speak English.” and the interview moved on.

Uh, ok…? What was so mean or douchey about that?

Maybe with Jennifer Aniston skipping out on the red carpet, nixed any hope for potential Angie-Anniston drama, people conjured their own controversy? Or perhaps it was just a slow news day. Who knows. All I know is, I would not expect anything less from Seacrest who high-fives a blind person.
