Yes, her father, John McCain, is not exactly the most popular politician in America. Nor does anyone really seem to care, as everyone is looking to President Obama to lead us out of this Economic crisis that has paralyzed this nation and beyond.
But after reading the below quote from Meghan McCain’s blog post on “The Daily Beast,” I do feel bad for the woman. I mean, she didn’t choose her father or his decision to be in Politics or run for the highest position in the land. Who knew how badly it could kill her dating life?
McCain says, “”OK, maybe killed is a bit of an exaggeration. But it does seem to be on life support. Of all the things people warned would happen post-election, no one ever said anything about how complicated dating would become. Especially if your dad loses the election. There are things that have been difficult, but nothing quite as tough as dating. I fear the election has destroyed my ability and desire to date. Now, I cannot say at any point in my life that I have been very good at dating. But I have become something I used to despise: people who let politics dictate his or her attraction to someone.”
Can you imagine going on a date with someone who hates your father or worse, someone who has a crush on your mother? McCain continues on saying that she’s spending her time writing and hanging out with friends, but is still looking for Mr. Right, if he’s even out there.
She’s just like any other 20-something who is trying to find a good guy to date and then possibly marry. Her situation is a bit more complicated and I do feel bad for her. She ends her blog post saying,
Amen, sister.
