903839_fitnessPersonal trainers fall into the same category as personal chefs for most of us: it would be awesome to have one but who can afford it? At $25 to $50 (or more) per session having a professional help you get fit does not come cheap, but if it’s something you really want there could be a realistic way to get it: share your personal trainer with a friend! Seriously. FitSugar made the suggestion and I think it’s awesome — most trainers offer deals on small group sessions and who doesn’t work out better with a friend anyway? In this economy especially I bet more trainers will be willing to bargain with you (after all they are working in one of the many “non-essential” industries that are the first to get cut out of people’s budgets when money gets tight). And you don’t have to have a monthly gym membership to have a trainer, either (although many gyms won’t tell you that).

Personal trainers that work for themselves, as opposed to being contracted with a specific gym or health club, will usually meet you anywhere — at the gym, at your home, at the park, etc.

So have fun with a friend, get healthy and beautiful, and save a few bucks all at the same time.
