Jenna Fischer Takes on a Healthy Challenge

Jenna Fischer at He's Just Not Into You Premiere
“The Office” star Jenna Fischer has taken on a ‘get-healthier-and-happier’ challenge issued by Self magazine, and in the process has found herself doing everything from crunches to getting her closet organized to reconnecting with old friends. She even shares an awesome crockpot recipe her mom cooked up and a list of her favorite power jogging tunes for your loading onto your iPod.

The Self challenge is full of variety and really does hit every angle of healthy happy life. Something like organizing your closet might not sound like it should have a place in your quest for a healthier, fitter self, but reducing stress by organizing important parts of your daily life really does have a positive impact on everything else you do. A happy person is a healthier person, and I love Self for really looking at the whole picture (even including reconnecting with friends). The program is meant to take 10 days but you gotta love Jenna for being honest enough to admit she gave herself 14 in order to make it a little more attainable (it sounds like she did pretty well, plus of course she looks great).

I think I’m going to gear up and give this program a shot but is it horrible if I pull a copy-cat move and make it 14 days too?

  1. It’s nice to see some celebrities rise to the challenge of getting into shape. I know it’s hard to get started on an exercise routine, but after you’ve gotten into the routine of working out you’ll start feeling guilty if you skip a day.
It’s taken along time for me to keep on a regular exercise schedule.
