Leighton Meester, best known for her snarky and sometimes vulnerable portrayal of Upper East Side princess, Blair Waldorf on the CW’s “Gossip Girl,” is also quite the fashionista herself.
On the show, Meester, as Blair Waldorf, wears prim, preppy clothing with a slight edge that is remiscent of Bergdorf Goodman or other Upper East Side clothing emporiums. But in real-life, she’s much more downtown and fashion-forward as she talks about her desire to work with various designers in a previous Nylon Magazine interview. Meester says, “Absolutely. I would love to do my own thing, and see where that could take me. I love fashion, and sometimes I just feel like if I could only do and make whatever I wanted, it would make so much of a statement and really express who I am. I love Missoni and DVF, I’ve heard she’s an incredible woman and I’m dying to meet her. And I like Miu Miu, Alberta Ferreti… and you know, I really love Julie Haus.”
Most recently, Meester who is linked to hottie star Sebastian Stan, helped Reebok and Lady Foot Locker in launching the Reebok Top Down shoe collection in New York City. One thing is for certain, Meester knows how to be proper in Prada or downtown in Miu Miu.
