Jemma Kidd Will School You

jemma-kidd-1
Model turned Makeup Artist Jemma Kidd knows a thing or two about makeup. At the tender age of 21, Kidd decided that she’d rather doll up the models than be one, and she’s come a long way.  She says, ” “I was an equestrian when I was a teenager, so I was a real tomboy,” she says. “When I stopped competing, I got into modeling and fell in love with the artistry of cosmetics.”

Though she started as a model, in front of the camera, she parlayed her knowledge of makeup into a successful high-end makeup line that is sold at Bergdorf Goodman. In March 2008, she launched JK Jemma Kidd for Target that was supposed to provide an upscale product for a more affordable price.  Customer reaction proved to be loving her products, though not so much the prices as the difference between JK and the original sold at Bergdorf, is not that different.

Kidd is also a multi-tasker, starting the Jemma Kidd Academy in London that will teach anyone how to expertly apply liquid liner, mascara, and of course facial contouring and making your face look as au naturel as possible.  Basically using makeup to make it seem as though you’re wearing none at all. Her Director of Education, David Horne, will be teaching the class and there is a $50 reservation fee.  Here’s the info, but if you’d rather just save cash and just buy a few items from her Target line, I wouldn’t blame you.
