Katy Perry burst onto the Pop culture and music scene with her hit single, “I Kissed A Girl,” and then proceeded to give us two more fun, catchy hits including “Hot and Cold,” and “Thinking of You.”
Her style is reminiscent of a 1950′s pin-up girl with her pale complexion, dark hair, and fashion choices as she’s said on numerous occasions that she loves any type of accessory with fruit on it.
Betsey Johnson, an eclectic designer, known for her love of colorful fashions called Katy Perry after she was seen on one of the designer’s dresses. LA Times reports that a Betsey Johnson spokesperson says, “Betsey really likes Katy’s appearance. She’s very curvy and pinup looking — a typical Betsey girl.”
From Chanel designer Karl Lagerfield to T-shirt designer, Johnny Cupcakes, and then her recent Adidas campaign, Katy Perry is becoming a darling of sorts for her love of fashion that reaches from hip-hop to high-fashion.
Perry acknowledges this by saying,” I really like to look like a history book. I can look 1940s, I can look 1970s hippie-chic, or sometimes I’ll pull that ’80s Brooklyn hip-hop kid with the door-knocker earrings.”
In her newest video for “Thinking of You, ” Perry laments the passing of her first love and wears 1940′s clothing as though she was born to wear it. A true stylista.
