The State of New Jersey is seriously considering banning the Brazilian Bikini Wax procedure after two women reported infections following their “operation.” Doctors believe the use of hot wax in the genital area can be dangerous often causing, torn skin, rashes, bumps and ingrown hairs. Apparently, Brazilian waxing is not only popular with women, but men are also getting this procedure done, spending upwards of $50-$60 dollars.
Genital waxing is often referred to as the “Brazilian Bikini Wax” due to the fact that many Brazilian women get this done in order to wear thongs and g-strings. If successful, the New Jersey Board of Cosmetology will be the first state to ban genital waxing.
It seems as if there could be safer procedures for genital waxing and I think if the state were to put on stricter provisions, patients won’t be subject to infections. Also, I don’t think making Brazilian Bikini Waxing illegal will stop anyone from having it done, but rather cause more illegal operations.

I can't believe they are really thinking about banning a bikini wax. I mean the economy's in crisis and we worry about the small things!

back alley wax jobs? i don't know, sounds a little ridiculous to me. anyway, i agree with new jersey, if it's an unhealthy practice it should remain outlawed until they can make it healthier. i got to imagine it wouldn't be too hard
