The CW’s “Gossip Girl,” a hit TV show that is based on a series of books by Cecily von Ziegesar is known for its witty language, and shock value for its portrayal of the lives of privileged teenagers in New York’s Upper East Side.

Yes, fortunes in the world of Finance may have fallen, but in this tale, the mighty have not fallen because the hot,  young things in this version of the Upper East Side are still caught up in tales of betrayal, love, sex, and of course, gossip.

The two leads of this show are Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) and Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) who play best friends that at times are at odds with each other.  In real-life, there have been numerous reports of problems between the two actresses, but this month’s cover of Rolling Stone shows the two ladies are getting along just fine.

The cover, shot by Terry Richardson, includes Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badley, Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick, Taylor Momsen, and Jessica Szohr.  Oh, and there were those sweet, little props including ice cream, licorice, and um…hot dogs?

The cast of Gossip Girl has been preparing for an upcoming batch of new episodes and with hot shoots like this particular one for Rolling Stone, fans will be back and wanting more.

  1. after the oc left my life, i’ve been looking for a good glossy-teen-drama and this one seems the perfect fit. not sure why i haven’t yet watched the show

    this will need to change.

  2. hey Kylie, yes, this show is pure escapism. I mean, a bunch of rich kids ruling Manhattan? Thanks for commenting!

  3. I think these teenage shows might be a little overkill. From the new 90210 to the OC, not to mention The Hills, I don’t understand America’s fascination with rich kid issues in America.

  4. Yeah.. we should have more shows with more realistic casts. Trust me, I agree.
