Häagen-Dazs New “Five” Ice Cream

hhagen-dazs-five

Häagen-Dazs has been a favorite ice cream brand of mine ever since their “Help the Honeybees” campaign, and now they’re doing something else really cool: making five ingredient ice cream. All the decadent flavor, all the fat and sugar, but none of the preservatives or unexpected chemical ingredients you can’t pronounce.  The new line, called simply “five,” is launching seven unique flavors all of which are limited to just five ingredients. Brown Sugar, for example, is made with only skim milk, cream, brown sugar, sugar, and egg yolks.

I’ll be checking the freezer section for “five” the next time I go shopping for sure. I think the flavor I’m most curious to try is ginger (ingredients: skim milk, cream, sugar, ginger puree, egg yolks) because although ginger is commonly found in desserts it’s rarely the star of the show and so I’m curious to see how it tastes. If anybody call pull it off though, Häagen-Dazs can!
