Empress Casino Joliet

Luckily no injuries have been reported in the fire at Empress Casino in Jouilet, Illinois. The fire started out fairly small this morning around 10am and gamblers were slowly evacuated from the premises. As it grew, firefighters were unable to contain it and are still battling the flames.

Gamblers can rest assured though, the vouchers to claim there winnings are good for a year. My only question is how much money has been lost in the deposit safes. This will definitely be an insurance headache for the owners.

Heavy black smoke shadows the facility making it look more like a nuclear plant then a casino. I know I would’ve been mad if I was “on a roll” and then told I had to evacuate. But then again, I don’t think I’d be at the casino at 10am. I’m sure the firefighters will be able to contain the fire by tonight; due to the fact the building is in a fairly isolated area with no natural flammables.
