How To Make Your Tan Last Longer – Safely!

Summer is just around the corner and, it is totally time to get bikini ready. My first step towards letting myself wear a bikini is definitely getting a tan. However, I find that by the time I leave the salon or the beach that my tan has faded!

What good is looking super bronze if, by the time I shower or the weekend ended the tan has totally faded!?

Well, if you are like me then these tips to make sure your tan lasts couldn’t have come at a better time!

The first step to getting a great tan is remembering to exfoliate before you tan. Exfoliating assures that you get a deeper tan because, the dead layers of skin has just been rubbed away. I suggest something with pineapple enzymes or Salicylic Acid. However, avoid exfoliating after you tan that would just ensure you tan DOESN’T last.

The second and last step to having a great tan is moisturizing your skin before and after you tan. Keeping your skin hydrated prevents your tan from peeling which, lets your tan last a few extra weeks. I suggest a lotion with Aloe Vera or Cocoa Butter.

Now just be sure to wear sunscreen – skin cancers such as melanoma and basal cell carcinomas are on the rise among young women.  While wearing sunscreen certainly doesn’t prevent these cancers 100%, they have been proven to block dangerous UVA and UVB rays, providing you protection from potential sun-related cancers.
