Joe Jonas Caught in Controversial Pose

joe-jonas-b
Uh oh! Joe Jonas, co-lead singer and middle brother of the Jonas Brothers, had a controversial picture of him pop up today. In the picture Joe uses his fingers to slant his eyes to the side, producing a facial expression often deemed offensive and sometimes as racist. Now I doubt Joe was trying to be offensive – in all likelihood, some photographer simply caught him making a series of faces – but still, this doesn’t look good.

Last February, Miley Cyrus found herself in a similar position. Which I think shows two things. One, growing up in the spotlight of the media is never easy. They catch everything. But also, that young kids need good influences in their lives. Influences that let them know this kind of behavior is offensive and hurtful. Hopefully, Joe Jonas will learn his lesson and in the process help others learn too.
