Lauren “LC” Conrad is best known for the drama created among her circle of friends on “Laguna Beach,” and most currently, “The Hills,” where she started her career in fashion by working at Teen Vogue magazine and then moving onto Fashion PR at People’s Revolution.

In this interim, she managed to start her own clothing line called the Lauren Conrad Collection Line, that was looking to do brisk business based on her popularity, the TV show, and loads of Press and Media opportunities.

The line was sold in high end stores such as Bloomingdales and Kitsons, but due to the high prices, sales weren’t as high as her team had hoped.  The NY Post reports that her reps stated, ” In light of the economic climate, Lauren has decided to completely
rethink her line. With everything going on in the
economy and in her life, she wants to rework her line and offerings.
She will make announcements soon.”

The news that her Spring/Summer lines is shutting down production is a tough blow to this California girl who reportedly was 97th on the Forbes Celebrity 100 list for 2008, with a net worth of $1.5 million.

With a cool $1.5 million in the bank, I’m sure LC won’t be hurting for Benjamins anytime soon.

Good for her...She's made a lot of progress from interning at Teen Vogue to making her own designs...It helps that MTV is paying her pockets too!
