One of my favorite places to seek out new skin care products is…no, not Sephora, Whole Foods. They carry lines that are usually more natural or organic than what you find at Sephora. Most of the lines are free of synthetic ingredients like parabens, mineral oils, etc. Also, these companies do their fair share of protecting the environment with strict reuse, recycle programs and run green, efficient offices and warehouses.
One of my favorite lines is Alba Botanica, parent company is Avalon Natural Products. They have a full-range of product, skin care, hair care, bath & body, lip care, sun care, and their hawaiian line. I use products from their skin care line and their bath & body line. The two products on the top of my list are the Sea Algae Enzyme Facial Scrub and the Maximum Dry Skin Formula Body Lotion.
The Sea Algae Scrub is one of the best scrubs I have used. Made with corn meal and almond oil to soften, remove impurities, and refine skin texture. Their marine complex which is derived from five algae extracts, detoxifies and stimulates cell regeneration. The plant enzymes help by invigorating the skin for a healthy, vibrant complexion. ($9.95 for 4 fl oz)
The Maximum Dry Skin body lotion has ingredients such as, aloe vera, almond oil, green tea, lavender, and a plant derived alpha beta hydroxy acid complex. This lotion is light, but intensely moisturizes the driest and sensitive skin. It also helps stimulate circulation and revitalizes the skin for a healthy glow. ($11.45 for 12 fl oz)
So, if you are ever looking for new, natural and organic products, head over to your neighborhood Whole Foods. You won’t be disappointed.

I recently ordered some Alba botanical cocoa butter hair wash and conditioner and used it last week. It is wonderful for my hair. I have curly Afro- American hair and wanted to try some natural shampoos and conditioners. This brand works wonders on my hair. It cleaned well without leaving my hair feeling stripped.
