Beyonce Knowles, also known as Sacha Fierce, the one woman singing, dancing, acting, and performing phenomenon graces April’s cover of Vogue Magazine with her regal grace.
From her days as a songstres in the Pop/R&B group, Destiny’s Child to her solo career which spawned hits from “Crazy in Love,” “Listen,” “Irreplaceable,” and to her most recent smash, “Single Ladies,” which had tons of copycat fans creating their own version of the dance on youtube, Beyonce is a huge deal.
Most recently, she also made history when singing a soul-drenched rendition of Etta James’s “At Last,” at the inauguration of President Barack Obama. And soon after, she performed a musical melody with Hugh Jackman at the Oscars. Did we also forget that she’s also married to hip-hop impresario, Jay-Z?
For this busy woman, life is full of rehearsals, meetings, and performances. And she is also aware of her influence on young girls and women everywhere, including the daughters of our current President. She says, “And I’m like, ‘Oh, my God.’ You have to feel fortunate to be one of the people whom parents don’t mind their children looking up to. The older I get, the more I think about the amount of influence I have on these young girls, and it’s scary sometimes. But I also understand how lucky I am to have that.”
As other pop stars fade out of the spotlight, Beyonce’s star still shines brightly as she prepares for her upcoming world tour. One thing is certain though, her work ethic has carried her and will carry her throughout the rest of her career.
