A high school in Manchester, England threatened to ban a recently deceased student from there year end prom, after reports showed her frequently absent. The young Megan Gillan was found dead in her room two months ago. Causes are still being investigated for the sudden death of this 16 year-old student. Wow… I don’t think I could have made this one up.
The school immediately apologized to the family after this inexcusable mistake occurred. The parents of Megan Gillian were absolutely appalled and felt this type of carelessness was unforgivable.
The letter sent to the Gillian family read that no student with less than a 90.2% attendance score was able to attend the prom. Megan’s attendance was listed 60%. The school blames the mishap on a “software error” by the company Capita ,who are currently working on the fix. I can’t imagine what the parents must have been going through after reading the letter. Hopefully, the school can do something to reconcile this unfortunate incident.
I can’t even believe this…If that was my daughter, I don’t know what I would’ve done.
