Don’t Hate on Meghan McCain for her Weight

Meghan McCain, the daughter of Republican Senator John McCain, is used to critics going after her father, but what about attacks on her weight?

It was the last straw for her when conservative radio host Laura Ingraham compared Meghan McCain to a plus size model.  Here were her exact words:

Ingraham: Ok, I was really hoping that I was going to get that role in the Real World, but then I realized that, well, they don’t like plus size models.  They only like the women who look a certain way.

Is she serious?  Ingraham who is older and supposed to be wiser, actually took a stab on McCain for her physical appearance which has absolutely nothing to do with any significant Political issue. Here is McCain’s response:

“I have nothing to hide: I am a size 8 and fluctuated up to a size 10 during the campaign.  At this point, I have more respect for Ann Coulter than I do for Laura Ingraham because at least Coulter didn’t come back at me with heartless, substance-less attacks about my weight.”

The truth is that attacks about physical appearance have no place on the Political scene or anywhere, for that matter.  As women, we’re supposed to have discussions based on facts, issues, and opinions.  Not just baseless attacks based on the size of someone’s jeans.

But McCain had the last laugh as she went on “The View,” and said…just like Tyra Banks, “Kiss my Fat Ass.”
