Anna Faris Laughs It Off

ANNA FARIS

Anna Faris is not your typical blonde.  At first glance, you might think that she’s a ditzy airhead, but she usually just plays them in movies.  From “Scary Movie,” to her turn as a den mother for a Sorority in “The House Bunny,” Faris knows her way around a punchline or two.

In this month’s Self Magazine, Faris is on the cover in a turquoise bikini as she is starting to promote her new comedy, “Observe and Report,” with which she stars opposite of a newly slimmed down Seth Rogen.

What you may not know is that this funny lady also has brains to boot, as she was one of the producers of “The House Bunny,” and felt that she was bossy at times to the other girls in the movie. Faris says,  “A lot of the girls had never done a movie before.  There were times when I had to crack the whip.”

And she discussed the challenges that women face at home and in the workplae.  She says, “When I look back, I think, Wow, was I too bossy? It’s a challenge to be strong and empathetic. I think that’s a battle all women go through.”

Faris says that in work and in her personal life, she chooses to deal with life by laughing and making fun of situations, usually at her own expense.  And this positive attitude has gotten this blonde pretty far in Hollywood and she didn’t need to step over anyone to get there.  She says, “I don’t think nice is ncessarily equal to weak.  Being mean and caty to me seems like the weaker route.”

So true, Anna.
