The 23 year-old Miss Montana native Jennifer Hepner was charged with a DUI Thursday, making her ineligible for further competition in the Miss America Pagent. Hepner, who is a recent graduate from the University of Montana was pulled over Jan. 3, 2009 on suspicion of drunk driving.
After having participated in the Miss America Pageant January 24th, Hepner was allowed to fulfill her duties as Miss Montana. However, was suspended on February 19 pending further legal charges.
It’s unfortunate to see these types of incidents, especially with Miss America contenders. In many places these women are looked to as role models and true representatives of there states. Hopefully this isn’t a growing trend and the the Miss America Council will do more to warn about the dangers of DUI’s.

Whatever happened to the 5th amendment right against self incrimination ? No one should have to take a breath test against their will. Of course you don’t actually “have to” , but if you don’t they automatically suspend your license. No due process there at all. So it’s the same as if you “have to”. One way to combat this infringement on our constitional rights, is for absolutely “no one” to ever submit to the breath test. If “no one” did it, they would have to abandon it. But of course “some” will always just follow along, like sheep to the slaughter. People that aren’t willing to stand up for their rights, deserve none. I for one, am sick of our Gov’t. running and ruining our lives. Is it America, or is it Amerika. And I don’t want to hear any BS rhetoric about drunk drivers. I don’t care if she was drinking or not, she still has a 5th amendment right against self incrimination, like it or not. That’s in the U.S. Constitution.
