Madonna to Adopt Again?
According to Malawian officials, Madonna has filed paperwork to adopt a second child from that country. As you may remember, she and then husband Guy Ritchie, adopted David Banda from Malawi in 2006. He is 3 years old today.
While adopting a child in need is great, I wonder how her recent “activities” will affect the adoption process. When she and Guy adopted David Banda, it seemed to be a long, drawn out ordeal with numerous court cases and visits from Malawian officials. I wonder if the fact that since then she’s supposedly had a steamy affair with the Yankees’ Alex Rodriguez, gotten divorced and taken up with 22-year old model, (damn girl, it’s been a busy three years!) will make it hard for officials to hand over another kid.
In fact, a senior official from Malawi’s Ministry of Women and Child Welfare Development said, “Our official policy is that we do not encourage our children to be sent into broken homes”.
But, we all know that Madonna gets what Madonna wants, and according to an AP report, she is visiting Malawi this weekend and a court could hear her adoption case as early as Monday.
