Robin Williams Recovers After Surgery

The 57 year old actor is recovering after having surgery to replace an aortic valve on March 13th. Williams was initially treated at the University of Miami hospital before being transferred to the Cleveland Clinic. He was in Florida performing his one-man comedy show, “Weapons of Self-Destruction,” after experiencing shortness of breath. He had to then cancel the remainder of the shows.

Like the Robin Williams we know, after the surgery in a matter of a couple of hours he was up moving around and entertaining the medical team. He was extremely thankful for everyone’s love and support and couldn’t resist a little comic relief saying “I got some great new material for the tour and can’t wait to get back on the road,” he said. “I’m thinking the next leg of the tour will be Weapons of Self-Destruction and Reconstruction’!”

The one-man comedy show was sold out in several cities across the country. William will probably resume the show in the fall.
