The Truth about Curling Mascaras

I will never get rid of my eyelash curler. I don’t care what these beauty companies produce in the way of curling mascaras, they will never get your eyelashes to curl like an eyelash curler. 

Some of these curling mascaras have an ingredient called Shellac. Shellac is an old school hair spray ingredient. So, essentially it helps to hold the eyelashes in place and keep their curl, not create the curl.

The reason why you would buy a curling mascara over other types, is that you may not want volume, but want separation and length. Make sure you read what the mascara can or cannot do. Some curling mascaras lenghten, “curl”, and add volume, while others just lengthen. One of my favorite mascaras is Dior’s Diorshow Unlimited Mascara, I also love Kevyn Aucoin’s mascaras. 

So, don’t throw away your eyelash curler. It should always be used in conjunction with whichever mascara you prefer. One of the best eyelash curlers is Shu Uemura’s. Also, try Kevyn Aucoin’s.
