Roseanne Barr, Making a Return to Primetime?
That is the supposed rumor coming from the Hollywood Reporter. Roseanne has teamed up with the producer from her long-running ABC show “Roseanne”, Caryn Mandabach. Jim Vallely from “Arrested Development”, would be Executive Producer along with Barr, Mandabach, and Maggie Rowe.
I have to tell you, I love Roseanne Barr. After “Roseanne” came off the air, she started a talk show, which was not that successful, and she also did a reality TV series with ABC. She also did a Comedy Show on HBO which was absolutely hilarious. I think the mix of Vallely and Mandabach will probably produce a very funny show.
“Roseanne” had a nine year run which ended in 1997. I don’t think many people credited that show for it’s success. It seemed the shows that received that kind of attention were Beverly Hills 90210 and Friends. Both which lasted ten years, however a nine year run should be given the same credit.
It will be interesting to watch how this unfolds. The truth of the matter is, you either love or can’t stand Roseanne, no in between.
