Everyone remembers “Something About Mary” with Cameron Diaz and Ben Stiller. That’s still one of my favorite comedy films. That’s also the first time I heard about the Farrelly brothers.
Funny enough, after becoming familiar with them and checking out other movies they had done, I realized they were behind “Dumb & Dumber” with Jim Carey and Jeff Daniels, another classic comedy. Since then they have been behind some of the other comedy hits such as, “Me, Myself, and Irene”, “Stuck On You”, and “The Heartbreak Kid”.
Their next project, that was just announced, is going to be bringing the Three Stooges to the big screen. The studio behind it is MGM and the actors that are slated to be playing those classic characters are, Sean Penn as Larry, Jim Carey for Curly, and negotiations are under way for Benecio Del Toro to play Moe.
Filming is set to begin this coming fall and will be released sometime in 2010.

Sean Penn with the Farrelly Brothers? Seems an odd match. We'll see I guess.
