J.Lo Goes Mod and West Side

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez has kept out of the spotlight since having her twins…well, at least more than usual.  The actress/singer/producer who shot to fame after starring in “Selena,” and then releasing the multi-platinum album “On the 6,” with hits such as “If You Had My Love,” has been spending more time with her husband, singer Marc Anthony and her children.

But in a recent Vanity Fair shoot, Jennifer Lopez or J.Lo  re-created the look of Anita in “West Side Story,” a film that she watched “37 times as a kid growing up in the Bronx. She also says,”I never wanted to be that wimpy Maria, who sits around pining for her guy. I wanted to be Anita, who danced her way to the top.”

And so she is Anita, in a glamorous shot by Photographer Mark Seliger, the dancer who made her dreams come true by dancing.

J.Lo also recently travelled to Japan to support Samantha Thavasa’s new handbag collection at Marui City Shibuya in Tokyo.  She sported a black and white striped flowy top, leggings, and the ever popular mod wispy bangs.

The Samantha Thavasa handbags are known for their cute colors and designs, high quality, luxurious look, affordable prices, and marketing via Foreign celebrity endorsements.

Can’t wait to see what J. Lo will be doing next.

  1. i’ve always like j. lo (‘i’m real’ feat. ja rule, anybody?), and have been a little saddened that she fell off the radar so completely. i mean, biggest star in america, to almost nothing.

Erin, I was and am still obsessed with “I’m Real.” That was the hottest summer song. I think she’ll come back…
