Why Michelle Obama Is Relatable

First Lady Michelle Obama is becoming accustomed to making news across the blogosphere with just a glimpse of her super toned arms, her fist bumps, and her words regarding the importance of having her two young daughters, Sacha and Malia, continue to do their chores. Even in the White House.

In a recent New York Times article, Michelle Obama dished on a few things that make us feel like she’s just one of us gals.

She has to work for her figure- “I have hips, and I have them covered up with these pleats.”

I don’t know about you ladies, but I definitely have to exercise to fit into my clothes. Sigh.

She has a husband who doesn’t understand fashion- (President Obama says) I haven’t seen that before.’ It’s like, Why don’t you mind your own business? Solve world hunger. Get out of my closet. He doesn’t understand fashion.”

I’m sure many of your girls out there can relate to guys in your life that are confused by your outfit choices.  My ex-boyfriend hated this one pair of ankle boots that I LOVED and he thought they were hideous.

She loves French Fries- “They are my favorite food in the whole wide world. I could live on French fries.”

Crispy, hot taters.  Who doesn’t love French Fries?

She dislikes Lima beans and Liver-  “It’s just a lie. I’ll get my brother here, and we can spend hours railing about how we hid lima beans in our napkins. And for the days we had to eat liver, we were gagging over it.”

This makes me feel better that I also hid my brussel sprouts and lima beans in my napkin during dinner when I was a child.

Michelle Obama is quite possibly the coolest First Lady ever.
