Lindsay Massaro, a 23-year-old student teacher in Sussex County was arrested on Monday for alleged sexual relations with an eighth grade student from her class. According to reports, the relationship lasted a week in late March and involved both “sexual penetration and sexual contact.” Her charges include sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a minor and criminal sexual contact. Lindsay is pictured to the right.
Massaro was released from county jail today after posting a $75,000 bail. While out, she is not allowed near the school or to have unsupervised contact with minors under 16. Before her court date on May 4, she is scheduled for a psychological evaluation.
At the time of the arrest, Lindsay was attending Centenary College and student teaching at a Sussex County middle school. Braden Hirsch, the superintendent of the college, said Massaro had been working toward a teaching certificate in special education.
Update: A picture of Lindsay Massaro has surfaced. Photo was incorrect and has been taken down.

seems like this phenomena has been increasing in recent years. wonder when the pictures will come out.
Maybe the schools do need bigger class sizes so that some of these teachers have more work to do and they don’t have time for the ‘extracurricular’ activities.
that is not the correct lindsay
you need to look into changing the picture…poor girl has her picture associated with this story and its not even the correct lindsay massaro
Thanks for the tip Joan & Bob. The picture has been taken down.
Why would you use the pic of a texan instead of this one that’s much more likely to be her?
I went to both high school and centenary with Lindsay– wasn’t really close to her however, she had always had a good heart and meant well.
Regardless if these allegations are true or not, as of now they are only alleged. There are no facts behind her case yet.
If she did or didn’t do it, people should leave her and the family alone! People should stop believing the worst of someone without knowing facts first.
If it is true…granted her actions were wrong and it would defiantly be a terrible judgment call on her part, and yes, she should face the same penalty as any “man” would.
Unfortunately if this case finds that she is guilty, her “career life” is indeed over—at least working with children. And it will be difficult for her to find other means of employment but not unattainable either.
I hope for her and her family’s sake that these are false allegations and wish her the best.
Quickpost this image to Myspace, Digg, Facebook, and others!
