Have you ever wondered why all of the Japanese beauty companies have so many skin care products in their line? It usually consists of a makeup remover (mostly a type of oil), face cleanser, toner or mist, exfoliator, mask, treatment, and moisturizer. Some companies, like Cle de Peau, have 16 products for the regimen of one skin type. However, when you take a look at most Japanese women’s skin, it’s flawless! So, it’s no wonder why they have so many skin care products, they take extremely good care of their skin.
It’s not the same in the Western world. We are living a fast-paced lifestyle where we practically have no time to eat lunch or dinner. Some women don’t take the time to even wash their faces at night! I think the majority of women cleanse and moisturize and once or twice in a week they exfoliate and do a mask.
I have been paying more attention to my skin care regimen. I feel as I get older, it’s more important to take the time to really give your skin some tender loving care. Not to mention, it can be very relaxing and meditative which only adds to the benefits of my skin and health. So, I have decided to add to my regimen. I’m not necessarily buying Japanese brands, but making sure I have all the basic products.
Here are some of the top Japanese brands:
