It’s hard enough to pay the monthly bills you are expecting these days, much less unexpectedly high cell phone bills due to overage charges and hidden fees. Many cell phone users are striking back at these unexpected charges and switching from standard cell phone services to no contract cell phones. These phones are generally pre-paid (as in, you can pay anywhere from $20 to thousands of dollars up front) and can be used until the balance runs out. This effectively prevents the user from going “over” on minutes.
The downside to these phones is that if you aren’t diligent about tracking how many minutes you have left, you may be abruptly cut off in the middle of a phone call to your mom (although, this may not necessarily be a bad thing)! However, they definitely help you budget the amount of money you want to spend on your cell phone bill, so if that is a priority for you, definitely check out the many new options for no contract cell phones.
