Demi Moore Uses Twitter to Save Lives

Demi Moore

You may have already read about Demi Moore and her love of the social networking Phenomenon, Twitter.  Yes, on Twitter, you can microblog and use up to 140 characters to tell people that you’re deciding between ice cream and frozen yogurt, that you’re about to head out to see your favorite rock band perform, or get tweets from the famous people like Martha Stewart, Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, John Mayer, Kanye West and MC Hammer. Yup, Hammertime.

Demi Moore, the actress/producer/Master Cougar,  is also a Twitter enthusiast, most likely the influence of her tech-savvy husband, Ashton Kutcher.  She’ll tweet from travel locations or about the latest workout that she’s doing.  But she’s also a model citizen, as she along with several other twitterers, notified San Jose authorities after reading possibly suicidal tweets from a woman.

After reading the message by the 47 year old woman who tweeted her intent to kill herself, Moore not only notified the authorities but re-broadcast the tweets to her 350,000 Twitter followers.

This story not only shows the power of a service like Twitter, but also how celebrities such as Demi Moore are able to be in contact with their fans like never before.  In this case, saving a life.  Props to you, Demi.
