Yes folks, the fact that this deal has even found its way into reality shows that perhaps Pigs flying in mid-air is really not that difficult to believe. Or perhaps this recession is causing even budget airlines such as JetBlue to re-think their marketing strategy.
The promotion by Jet Blue was held on Thursday, April 2 and was only for travel between New York and San Francisco. All 200 seats were sold out in a few hours, and was limited to travel that was completed by April 8.
With prices for travel already squeezing travelers with pay-on-board food prices as well as costs to check baggage, JetBlue stated that they wanted to draw attention to their lack of fees for your first checked bag.
I’ve flown JetBlue on various occasions and have always liked their clean, inexpensive planes, and of course, I like not having to pay a fee for my first checked bag. In these tough times, its always positive to see that companies are trying to find ways to adapt to the consumers changing budgets as well as getting good buzz from press.
Bryan Baldwin, spokesman for JetBlue says that “most of the buyers probably wouldn’t have taken a last-minute, cross-country trip at regular fares, so the promotion likely put people in seats that otherwise would have gone empty.”
Well, keep putting out promotions like that Bryan. And you’ll definitely continue to build your loyal customer base.”

JetBlue is great. Virgin Air is good too. I’m definitely a big fan of these new cheap but nice airlines. the way of the future i hope.
hey Jen. Yeah, I think it already is.
I would like to now of any flight discounts/promotions from chicago to dallas and vice-versa.
