Teen Queen Miley Cyrus Opens Up

You may have randomly found yourself watching “Hanna Montana,” re-runs on the Disney Channel one night when coming back from a lame bar and trying to forget about the awful night you just had.

All of a sudden, you’re kind of engrossed in this show about a girl whose actually a Rock star, but also has a regular life. Oh wait, and only her family and a few friends know this secret.  Everyone else has no clue.

Believable? Nope.  But it’s one of the biggest hits that the Disney Channel has ever had and Miley Cyrus, daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus (Remember “Achey Breaky Heart”), is now a huge worldwide star due to the show and is at the helm of a $1 billion empire.  All because of a show about a girl who leads a double life as a rock star and just a plain girl that’s trying to be normal.

Miley Cyrus graces the cover of this month’s Glamour Magazine and in the article, she talks about growing up, her new movie; “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” and recent controversy of a picture where she was slanting her eyes, that was seen as making fun of Asians.

About Trusting People: “I’ve learned how to respect myself and how to say no. I’ve learned who I can really trust. I have 200 or 300 friends, but I probably trust four. When I read something in the tabloids and it’s from an “insider,” I want to know who thinks they’re on the “inside.”

On the racist picture: “I regret what it became. I was embarrassed and I apologized. And I am sorry. I am going to be more careful in the future, but I know this won’t be the last mistake I make. The minute I stop making mistakes is the minute I stop learning.”

About the Money: “In this industry there are so many things that can take over your life: money, alcohol, drugs—even fashion. People hand you things, and you start to believe life is easy. And it’s not like that—you’re not supposed to be the person you play in the movies. I’m doing fine, and I’ll be able to live comfortably for a while. But I like keeping my mind as far away from money and the material aspects of my job as possible.”

Love her or hate her, I don’t think she’ll be going anywhere for a long time.

  1. i hate to admit it, but this girl is pretty alright. she seems like she’s more down-to-earth than other teen pop divas. then again, it can be hard to tell when all you get are feature interviews, etc. to give you the inside scoop
