Dolce & Gabbana Makeup Line Launching in April

I was flipping through the April addition of my Allure Magazine and came across an ad for Dolce & Gabbana. Scarlett Johansson is sprawled across a bed of satin wearing a corsett and underwear and her lips are bright red. I then look across the bottom of the pages and realize it’s an ad for lipstick and not the corsett! I did a double take and saw on the top of the page “Premiering April 2009 Exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue New York City and Beverly Hills”. I continued flipping pages and finally came across a small article about the launch of their makeup line. 

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana teamed up with makeup artist Pat McGrath to design the line. The packaging is all gold, no surprise there, because that’s their signature look and style, they even named their restaurant Gold. All the colors are going to be very bold hues with names like Guilty, Elegance, Drama, and Devil.

Considering the success of lines like Dior and Chanel, I think it’s only fitting that Dolce & Gabbana expand on their brand. Also because of the times, I think this is a great move because the prices range from $26 – $50. Not everyone can afford their clothing or sunglasses, but every woman can afford a luscious lipstick.

    Scarlett looks great. Remember when she went brunette for a while (maybe still is?)? Not a good luck. This is much better.
